When Should You Call an Emergency Plumber?
Fast-moving water, a burst connection, indoor sewage, or water near electrical equipment may require urgent help. Mineral buildup, a dripping faucet, or reduced flow generally allows time for a standard assessment unless water is escaping or usable service is lost.
What Should You Do Before Plumbing Help Arrives?
Close the nearest safe shutoff when water is spreading, stop using backed-up fixtures, and keep clear of wet electrical areas. Do not dismantle a pressurized line or open gas or electrical water-heater components. Photograph visible residue or leakage if it can be done safely.
